It's raining cats and dogs

This is a very old expression linked to the ancient beliefs of sailors and also to Norse mythology. Cats were associated with heavy rain and dogs with storms and wind. Therefore, this expression was used to refer to severe rainstorms. Nowadays, it has become old-fashioned.
Esta es una vieja expresión relacionada con las antiguas creencias de los navegantes y también con las mitología nórdica. Los gatos eran relacionados con las fuertes lluvias y los perros, con las tormentas y el viento. Por lo tanto, esta expresión se usaba para referirse a terribles tormentas de lluvia y viento. En la actualidad, ha caído en desuso y se considera un poco anticuada.

It’s a myth that intelligent people are better at learning languages.

Sure, it doesn’t hurt, especially when innately academic types hold an arsenal of learning strategies. Most language learning skills, however, are in fact habits, which can be formed through a bit of discipline and self-awareness.

Here are the five most common mistakes language learners make – and how to correct them...

Not listening enough

There’s a school of linguistics that believes language learning begins with a “silent period”. Just as babies learn to produce language by hearing and parroting sounds, language learners need to practise listening in order to learn. This can reinforce learned vocabulary and structures, and help learners see patterns in language.

Call the manager and I tell him I wanna "sheet"!

He tells me go in to at the toilet

I say you don't understand
I wanna "sheet" on a bed

He says you better not shit on above up my bed

You son of a you bitch!

I go in at to the check out

and the man in at to the desk

says, Peace on above up you

I say, piss on you too! you son of a bitch!

I go back in to at Italia, Arrivederci

GARATUKO “LANGUAGE FOR ENGLISH TEACHERS”  IKASTAROA      ELDUAIENEK ESKAINIKO DU

Irakasleen Etengabeko Hobekuntzarako  planaren barnean Elduaienek  Garatu programan parte hartuko du berriz ere, 2013/2014 ikasturtean ikastaro bat eskainiz.

Eusko Jaurlaritzako Hezkuntza Sailak GARATU 2013/2014 osatzeko deialdia argitaratu berri du, hau da, datorren ikasturterako Irakasleen Etengabeko Prestakuntzarako Plana garatzeko proiektuak aurkezteko deialdia argitaratu du.

2012/2013 ikasturtean Elduaienek  lehen aldiz eskaini zituen programa honen barnean ikastaroak “Methodology of teaching English” ikastaroa antolatuz eta irakasleen artean izandako harrera oso ona izan zen.

Datorren ikastaroan, 2013/2014koa, Hezkuntza Sailak eskainitako diru laguntzaren bidez antolatzen diren  ikastaroetako bat izango da Elduaien Hizkuntza Eskolan, “Language for English teachers” hain zuzen ere.

 Ikastaroak 75 orduko iraupena izango du eta bertan, hizkuntzaren berezitasunez gain, klaseko testuinguruan ingelesaren irakaskuntzan metodologia eta baliabideen inguruko gakoak emango dira.
